GeoSonic Lowland League: Stage is set for tantalising top two tussle

Posted on Friday, September 21st, 2018

The top two lock horns at Ainslie Park on ‘Scottish Cup Saturday’ as Spartans welcome East Kilbride in the GeoSonic Lowland League’s only match of the day.

Dougie Samuel’s men have a narrow one point advantage as the sides clash in the domestic competition that they have shared three titles between themselves since it began five years ago however the South Lanarkshire tourists do have a game in hand.

Whilst we can’t promise – or indeed likely – to offer any engraved edibles to our visitors, there will be plenty food for thought in both camps as neither side will be interested in losing any bragging rights or points in what promises to be an enthralling encounter in North of the capital.

The sides have already met this season in the Irn Bru Cup, with nothing to pick between them in an entertaining 1-1 draw over the ninety minutes with the lottery of a spot kick shoot out just swinging in favour of the hosts that evening.

Samuel has four returnees to the squad following their unavailability last week, with Gary Cennerrazo, Blair Carswell, Jason Stevens and Scott Maxwell all back in contention for a place in the starting XI.

Kick-0ff is 3pm.  Admission £7 Adults, £4 Concessions, Under 16s Free.  Affordable Football for All at Ainslie Park.
