Lowland League: Spartans out to undo Ando and his Vale-d Leithen threat

Posted on Friday, February 23rd, 2018

Spartans get back to Lowland League action following Tuesday’s late night escapades in Gretna where Dougie Samuel’s men set-up a semi-final tie v East Kilbride at the Academy next Tuesday with an injury time win.

It’s another day on the road, this time in the joys of daylight, as we head to the tranquil settings of Innerleithen to acquaint ourselves with old friends at host club Vale of Leithen.

Chris Anderson’s side may sit in 14th place in the table however they will be looking to make it a hat-trick of wins on the bounce at Victoria Park and bounce back from last weekend’s heavy defeat to East Kilbride.

Spartans have come out on top in both games between the sides this season, with a 3-0 Scottish Cup victory followed by a 5-0 win in the capital.

The Ainslie Park men will have everyone, with the exception of new treatment table recruit Jack Nixon available for selection as we aim for another three points to keep momentum up at the business end of the roster.

With Spring round the corner, there is sufficient light to warrant the return to a traditional 3pm kick-off. Rejoice!
