William Hill Scottish Cup: Spartans all set for crack at ClachThe Road to Hampden continues on Saturday when North Edinburgh is the setting for an intriguing Scottish Cup tie between Spartans and Clachnacuddin FC.Round 2 of the oldest national trophy competition in the world sees Lowland and Highland League go head to head in what is set to be a tough test for Dougie Samuel’s men in their 61st outing in the competition. Spartans go into the tie with a run of six matches unbeaten, including the Round 1 victory over Vale of Leithen that offers up the opportunity for an intriguing clash against Clach. It’s the first time the sides have met in the competition however the tie is the 16th between Spartans and Highland opposition. The tale of the tape sees the Ainslie Park side lead with 7 wins and two matches drawn, both of which saw defeats in replays, which means a win at first time of asking is definitely our favoured way to progress! In squad news, Scott Maxwell looks set to join the squad after his spell on the treatment table ensuring the gaffer has a full complement of personnel to choose from. Kick-off on Saturday is 3pm. Admission prices are £8 Adults, £5 Concessions & Under 14s £3, payable at the gate in cash. Season Tickets will NOT be valid for Scottish Cup games. The Academy Café / Bar will be open. |
