William Hill Scottish Cup: The Road to Hampden begins…Spartans kick-off their 2017/18 William Hill Scottish Cup Campaign tonight when they take on fellow Lowland League side Vale of Leithen at Ainslie Park. The tie will be Spartans 60th in the competition however it will be the first time the two teams have met in the oldest domestic cup competition in the world. There will be more than a degree of familiarity for many of the players and management involved though as ex-Spartans favourite Chris Anderson brings his side to the capital looking to gain the upper hand on his former Gaffer. A win would begin another potentially prosperous cup run for boss Dougie Samuel but he may have to start the journey without Michael Herd who is rated doubtful following a knee injury in the latter stages of last week’s win over Gretna. Returning for consideration for selection are the trio of Alan Brown, Scott Wilson and Blair Carswell. Kick-off is 7.45pm. Admission Prices: £7 Adults, £5 Concessions, Under 16s £3. Season Ticket holders are advised that their briefs are not valid for this match. 7.45 KO with the Academy Cafe/Bar open from 6pm. |
