Hooray for Harry as Girdwood graduates by joining Bairns

Spartans FC are delighted to announce teenage striker Harry Girdwood has signed a full time contract with Falkirk FC.

Harry will join the club upon expiry of his contract here at Ainslie Park. The 18-year old striker featured against the Falkirk in the SFA Youth Cup earlier in the season and has spent some time training with Alan Maybury’s squad.

Speaking of the move, Under 20s Head Coach Les Atkinson said, “I am absolutely delighted for Harry as he has been a fantastic player to manage over the last two seasons.  His work ethic and willingness to learn and improve is second to none. As a result, he has rightly been recognised by signing a professional contract with a Championship team.  Whilst he will be a huge loss to the team we are delighted he becomes another graduate from the U20’s joining the professional ranks.”

Maybury, Falkirk’s Development Coach, added: “Harry came in to train with us a number of times throughout last season and impressed me greatly. He is strong and powerful and has some good attributes that we want to try and develop through full time training.”
