Under 20s: Narrow advantage sets up exciting second leg against Colts

Posted on Friday, April 7th, 2017

Les Atkinson’s Under 20s take a narrow single goal advantage into the 2nd leg of tonight’s Challenge Cup tie against Cumbernauld Colts at Ainslie Park.

The sides were evenly matched at Broadwood last Friday, with a fast flowing night of football with a touch of true cup tie passion shown over the ninety minutes.

Colts took a 5th minute lead however an equalizer from Lewis Hall sent the sides into the sheds level.  Cameron Dawson’s header midway through the second half proved to be enough to separate the sides, with Cameron Rae pulling off a first class save from the penalty spot in final minute drama.

Already through to the next round are Lothian Thistle HV whilst East Kilbride take an 8 goal first leg advantage into their return tie against Edinburgh City.  Preston Athletic will have to pull the rabbit out the bag too in order to overturn a 1-4 deficit when they travel to Edinburgh Uni.

The match kicks-off at 7.45pm and will be played to a finish.
