Spartans sign striker Ross AllumDougie Samuel has boosted his Spartans squad after securing the services of striker Ross Allum from Edinburgh City.Allum made the short move across the capital this week and is likely to feature in Sunday’s Ferrari Packaging Lowland League 2nd v 3rd encounter against East Stirlingshire at Ochilview. The 28 year old played an integral part in City’s journey into SPFL 2 and signs an 18 month contract at Ainslie Park. The proven hitman found the net 27 times last season however the goal machine’s efforts have dried up this season due to a lack of game time. Speaking of the move, Allum said, “Spartans is a club I’ve always admired and delighted to have finally signed. It all happened fairly quickly if I’m honest however I’m just looking forward to getting started with the lads.” “Its ironic that the first game I’m playing in will be against East Stirling. City beat them in the play-offs last year although I suspect the team might be a bit different from the one I faced then.” And it won’t take long until Allum gets the chance to reunite with his old team mates as Spartans were drawn at home against City in the semi-finals of the East of Scotland Cup. |
