Beefy’s back for FN Cup clash v Leith

Posted on Friday, December 2nd, 2016

Keith Murray returns to the Spartans ranks from his loan spell at Preston as the Ainslie Park men look to avoid the potential banana skin of East of Scotland League leaders Leith Athletic in the Quarter Finals of the Football Nation Qualifying Cup.

Murray, who scored for the Panners last week, bolsters a side that loses out on the services of Jack Hay who is cup-tied following his appearance for Gala earlier in the tournament.  David Greenhill has made great progress on the treatment table and may find himself under one of the big tartan rugs on the bench for the visit of Derek Riddel’s Meadowbank-based outfit.

The hosts will be undoubtedly wary of the East of Scotland front-runners and will be equally keen to avoid a repeat of an earlier cup exit to Leith’s table stable buddies, Tynecastle.

Last time out at Ainslie Park, Spartans pulled the plug on East Kilbride’s long running unbeaten stint and they’ll be looking to show the same passion, determination and winning mentality to earn a semi-final berth.

Kick-off is 3pm.  Admission £5 Adults, £3 Concessions, Under 16s Free.
