Lowland League: Familiar faces on show as Sammy takes on Ando in midweek clashThe first of the Ferrari Packaging Lowland League midweek games in August takes place at Victoria Park Innerleithen tonight (Wednesday 10th) as Spartans look to continue their unbeaten start to the campaign against hosts Vale of Leithen. After a share of the spoils at home on Saturday against Edinburgh Uni, Dougie Samuel has Chris Townsley and David Greenhill back in contention for a starting berth after being unavailable at the weekend. There’s a sweat over Dan Ward’s return to match fitness ahead of the match against a Vale side looking to ditch their early season ‘draw specialist’ tag having being held in both their opening fixtures. There will be a plethora of familiar faces at Victoria Park with former Spartans man Chris Anderson at the helm. We expect to see Kevin Motion, Robbie Manson, Danny O’Donnell and Sean Stewart likely to feature whilst Keith McLeod – who has scored in both games so far – is on holiday and Blair Atkinson unable to feature under the loan deal between the clubs. It’s a early kick-off due to the challenges of overhead lighting, with the match kicking-off at 7.15pm. |
