Men from Peffermill offer next Spartans test

Posted on Friday, August 5th, 2016

Spartans will use their opening league win away to Stirling University as a springboard to success this weekend when they take on the other Lowland League student side Edinburgh at Ainslie Park on Saturday.

Coupled with a fine midweek victory in the Irn-Bru Cup at Berwick, it’s been a positive start for Dougie Samuel’s men who look to build on the early momentum at their first home game of the Ferrari Packaging sponsored season.

It won’t however be an easy task. In Dorian Ogunro, the Students have a gifted gaffer who will be challenging for a loftier spot than last year’s 6th place finish come the end of the 11 month footballing marathon.

It will be the University side’s first competitive match of the season due to enforced inactivity on the opening day however it is their second trip to the Academy in recent weeks – last time out was a narrow pre-season loss against Leith loss in the rain.

Kick-off is at 3pm. Admission: Adults £5, Concessions £3. Season Tickets are available on the gate, priced at £50 Adults & £25 Concessions – includes entry to all our Under 20s games too.

Don’t forget, season ticket holders at any SPFL side can purchase a 1/2 price Spartans season ticket.
