Tomassi seeks inaugural season silverware in League Cup FinalSunday afternoon sees Colin Tomassi’s East of Scotland side take on Leith Athletic in the League Cup Final with the gaffer looking to lift silverware in his first season at the helm. After a comfortable 3-0 win over Tynecastle in the semi-final at Ainslie Park, Tomassi’s men head into the winner-takes-all clash at St Marks Park knowing his side will have to replicate that form to defeat the league’s champions-elect. Both sides have secured victory against each other at home in the previous league encounters and what better way to decide the ‘best of three’s’ than with the chance to come away from the home of Craigroyston FC with a trophy for your efforts? The Spartans manager said, “The Final will be a tough test. Leith are certainly the ‘team of the season’ and, in my opinion, champions elect however we go into the game knowing we have and can beat them and there’s no reason why we can’t do it again.” The Final kicks-off at 2pm. Admission prices are £5 adults and £3 concessions. |
