Bruce boost for Spartans ahead of BSC test in the westAfter back to back cup successes, it’s a return to Ferrari Packaging Lowland League action for Spartans on Saturday when they head for a test in the west against BSC Glasgow.Currently on a five match unbeaten run, Dougie Samuel will be looking for his side to continue their winning ways as the season gathers momentum as it runs full paced towards the trials and tribulations of the ‘business end’ of the campaign. The Ainslie Park side are boosted by the return of Mikey Bruce to the club after signing from Penicuik ahead of the trip across the M8 to Lochburn Park. The Maryhill-based outfit haven’t had their troubles to seek in terms of hosting matches this season and will be keen that the weather gods have been kind to them this week. An Aaron Murrell double was the difference between the sides in a closely fought affair earlier in the season and another close encounter of the west coast kind is likely to be on show on Saturday. The sides will meet once again in a fortnight’s time after they were paired last night in the South Challenge Cup Quarter Final draw. Kick-off is at 3pm. |
