EOS and Under 20s in Friday night action

Posted on Friday, December 11th, 2015

Both Spartans East of Scotland and Under 20s sides are in action under the lights on Friday night.

It promises to be a table top humdinger at Meadowbank where Colin Tomassi’s men take on Leith Athletic on the 3G as they look to make it a second win over the table toppers which would narrow the gap to just three points.

Spartans are the only side to have inflicted defeat on Derek Riddel’s outfit in the opening round of East of Scotland league fixtures with a dramatic late comeback win at Ainslie Park in October.

With neither team in action last week, the coaches and players will be chomping at the bit to get back on the pitch.  The match kicks-off at 7.45pm.

Meanwhile, the transformational Under 20s side, featuring a host of first year players, entertain Civil Service Strollers in a North Edinburgh derby at the Academy.

Les Atkinson’s new look side are undefeated in their last four League outings and will be keen to remain top of the pile ahead of the Christmas break.  Dangerman Dylan Tait will be looking to continue his fine form in front of goal having scored seven during the unbeaten run.

Kick-off at Ainslie Park is 7.45pm.   Whilst admission is free, please consider donating a few non-perishable food items towards the Spartans Academy’s Food Bank programme on your arrival.
