Under 20s face Preston in Friday night football at Ainslie ParkSpartans under 20s will look to continue their winning start to their league campaign when they take on Preston Athletic at Ainslie Park on Friday night (7.45pm).After an impressive second half display against French outfit Edusport at the Academy last Friday, this time Les Atkinson’s side are ‘at home’ to take on what Assistant Manager Gary McClelland describes as ‘one of the toughest opponents’ they’ll face this season. Two goals from Andy Mair and a late penalty from Harry Girdwood ensured an opening day victory however McClelland is cautious ahead of the Panners visit. “We’re looking forward to what will be a hard test against Preston who have started their season well, with a win in the league and in the Youth Cup. They’ve got power up front (10 goals scored in those two games), whilst have shown to be fairly solid at the back (three conceded). However, the side are looking to build on last week’s performance and result and will set out to earn three valuable points.” “Everyone came through last Friday’s physical game without any dramas and are fit and raring to go. Cameron Feather (ex England Schools and Huddersfield Youth Keeper) is available for selection as he prepares for life at University in Edinburgh.” |
