Samuel looks for Star turn to defeat dangerous Dalbeattie

Posted on Friday, August 7th, 2015

Dougie Samuel’s side will be looking to get their Ferrari Packaging Lowland League campaign back to winning ways on Saturday when they welcome Dalbeattie Star to Ainslie Park.

In what is a gruelling opening month, the sides set out to play their third game in the first week of the season, with Spartans picking up a point in each of the previous two outings against Stirling and Preston.

The visitors head to the Capital after featuring in two games ending in a 2-1 outcome, an opening day win at Vale and a midweek loss at BSC.

With three draws and a Spartans win in the previous five encounters, Saturday’s clash promises to be yet another close encounter between two well matched sides.

On the player front, MacKinnon, Beesley, Maxwell and Grant remain on the sidelines due to injury.

The match at Ainslie Park kicks-off at 3pm.  Admission £5 Adults, £3 Concessions, Under 16s Free.
