Spartans welcome Huntly for pre-season Highland fling

Posted on Friday, July 10th, 2015

Spartans play host to Huntly at Saturday, with the Highland Leaguers taking the low road to North Edinburgh for a pre-season friendly.

After last weekend’s win in the sun at Duns followed by an exciting comeback victory against Brechin in midweek, gaffer Dougie Samuel will be looking to continue with his experimental squad against a Huntly side who will be keen to get back on the pitch following the postponement of their midweek friendly against A lford AFC due to the seasonal problems of heavy rain and thunderstorms!

Like Spartans, the tourists have been recruiting over the close season and will head to the Capital with a blend of youth and experience in their camp.  It’s been 10 years since the Black and Golds lifted the Highland League title – could a Christie Park renaissance be on the cards?

With the Lowland and Highland League teams now in competition for a coveted spot in the SPFL, two games in seven days against Saturday’s visitors and Cove Rangers will give the Ainslie Park men food for thought as the countdown to season kick-off continues.

The match kicks off at 3pm.  Admission Prices : Adults £5, Concessions £3, Under 16s Free of charge

You can also use your Season Ticket for Saturday’s game.  You can purchase them on the gate or by buying yours online.  Our commitment to offer Affordable Football for All has seen prices being frozen for a record 11th season in a row.
