Spartans look to thrive against Threave as final whistle blows on league campaign

Posted on Friday, April 17th, 2015

Spartans welcome Threave Rovers to Ainslie Park on Saturday for the final Scottish Sun Lowland League game of the season.

The previous encounter back in August saw Dougie Samuel’s side score four without reply against a plucky Threave side who perhaps find themselves unfortunate to be at the foot of the ladder in what’s been a tremendously competitive league campaign.

However there will be no room for complacency come kick-off time as Spartans look for a morale boosting win ahead of their League Cup Quarter Final tie against Preston Athletic at home on the 2nd May.

The Spartan Army will be out in numbers to watch the talismanic Willie Bremner pull on the prestigious Spartans jersey for the final time before he embarks upon his world travels – and we hope to see the fans favourite back at Ainslie Park in the not too distant future.  No pressure, Willie…

To continue on a theme, in the run up to game day The Gaffer once again has his selection hampered by injury and unavailability with several changes expected from the midweek 2-2 draw at Stirling Uni, a game which saw youngster Alex Imlah make his 1st XI debut.

Kick-off is at 3pm.  Admission Prices: £5 Adults, £3 Concessions and U/16s Free.
