Samuel’s Spartans set for Kilby away day challenge

Posted on Friday, November 21st, 2014

It’s back to Scottish Sun Lowland League action for Spartans on Saturday as they head on the road for their first time in five weeks to take on East Kilbride.

K-Park witnessed Dougie Samuel’s side break their duck against Kilby in the last meeting of the two teams, when they secured a 1-5 Scottish Cup 2nd Round replay win to set up a home tie v Clyde which they subsequently went on to win.

Spartans head into the game without a defeat in thirteen games, a record Samuel is out to continue however he’s mindful of the challenge that the South Lanarkshire side will offer.

“Saturday offers another tough test, away to East Kilbride.  Although we have happy memories from our most recent trip the K Club, we are fully aware that East Kilbride are a strong side, full of talented players.

“We will need to be at our best to achieve our goal of taking all 3 points and maintain our long unbeaten run.”

On the player front, other than Donal Henretty who is unavailable for selection & the long term injured party, Samuel has a full squad to choose from.

The match at K-Park kicks off at 3pm. Admission prices: £4 Adults, £1 Concessions and this week, for every paying adult, 2 children enter free of charge.
