Spartans Bordering on a baker’s dozen as Peebles head to town

Posted on Friday, November 14th, 2014

It’s a break from Lowland League duty this weekend as Spartans take on Peebles Rovers in the 2nd Round of the South Region Challenge Cup.

Dougie Samuel’s side go into the game on the back of a twelve match unbeaten run however the Rovers are in fine form of their own, sitting top of the East of Scotland 1st Division, with two games in hand over 2nd place Ormiston.  As cliches go, a cup game is a one-off and our visitors will be heading to Ainslie Park keen to pull off

Just like our visitors last week, there’s a Rovers return for former Spartans on Saturday in the shape of Lee Zavaroni. We’re sure the Spartan Army will give Lee a warm welcome from the stand!

With another two big games coming up, East Kilbride in the League followed by our Scottish Cup showdown with Morton, it’s a big month for the Club.

Off the park this week, the Gaffer, in his role as CEO of the Academy delivered an inspiring talk during a visit to Guernsey, sharing how the Academy use football as a vehicle for social change in Edinburgh.

For more information on the great work the Academy undertake in North Edinburgh, please visit www.spartanscfa.com/

Saturday’s game kicks off at 3pm.  Admission Prices: Adults £5, Concessions £3, Under 15s Free!
