U20s Hope for 5th of November to RememberOur u20s travel to Ibrox this evening to take on Rangers in the 3rd Round of the Scottish Youth Cup. Les Atkinson’s side will hope they have a November 5th to remember as they come up against the Championship side. However the boys have already proven they are capable of competing at the higher level, having dispatched Premiership side Patrick Thistle in the previous round with a 4-2 win at Ainslie Park.u20s Manager Les Atkinson is looking forward to the game “The guys have prepared well this week and are looking forward to testing themselves against higher grade opposition in Rangers. We have two long term injuries still progressing but otherwise have a full squad to choose from. It will be a case of looking forward to the occasion and performing to the best of their ability as a team on the night. May the best team win but whatever the result, we hope to follow Sammy and the Lowland League squad and put on a performance to make the Spartans family proud. ” Chairman Craig Graham is looking forward to what will be a great occasion for the boys. “We are delighted to be heading through to Ibrox tonight and many thanks to Rangers for enabling the game to be played at their home ground. Our team play some great passing football and it will be fascinating to see how our players cope against top opposition. We were superb against Partick Thistle in the last round and I am absolutely confident the boys will be a credit to Spartans. It would be great to see a big Spartans support at Ibrox and I know the boys would really appreciate your encouragement.” Admission prices this evening are £4 for adults and £1 for concessions. The Spartans support will located in the West Enclosure which can be accessed by turnstile 45. Parking facilities will be available on the the Broomloan Concourse. |
