Players Moving On

Posted on Friday, October 17th, 2014

This week has seen 2 players move on, namely Danny O’Donnell and Sean Muhsin, both in search of a more regular starting position.

In recognition of his great 13 seasons and over 350 games at the club we have released Danny from his contract with immediate effect and he is free to move to wherever he wishes.

Manager Douglas Samuel said “Danny has been a fantastic servant to the Club. In my time here has played exceptionally well in a number of crucial matches and been a pleasure to work with. His departure is something we talked about over a month ago, however, we agreed Danny would stay until after the East Kilbride Scottish cup game. Everyone in the Club thanks him for his help in moving the club forward over his 13 seasons with us. We’ll miss his experience and we wish him well for the future”.

16 months after joining us from ‘The Watt’ Sean has returned to Heriot Watt University FC on loan for the rest of the season. As stated earlier, Sean is looking for a regular starting position and with him playing for Heriot Watt in the University league and also Scottish Universities during his spell at The Spartans, it is a natural move for him. Sean will be missed both on and off the pitch.

Manager Douglas Samuel added “I’d like to thank Sean for all his efforts at Spartans. He played an important part in our title win last season and his crucial league goals earlier this season could yet prove vital. We wish him well and are delighted to help our friends at Heriot Watt with a loan arrangement.”
