Spartans u19s Clamber to Final Victory Over MusselburghSpartans u19s picked up their first piece of silverware this season following a 1-0 win over Musselburgh in the League Cup Final. The game at St. Marks Park was effected badly by the windy and wet conditions as both sides struggled at times to play the neat passing football they usually display. It took until the 85th minute to find the winner, however they did so in sensational style as Paul Dickson’s attempt from 40 yards flew into the net. Dickson was delighted with his goal after the game however was keen to focus on the performance of the whole team. Manager Les Atkinson was please that both teams tried to play passing football, despite the conditions. Team: Carswell, Imlah, Player, Dickson, Oliff (Buchanan), Brown (Lackie), Raiker, McGrory, Mair, Atkinson, McIntosh (Tait) Unused: Armstrong, Carruthers Man of the Match: Paul Dickson – A superb performance capped off by a wonderful goal. |
