Top Talent Signs Up

We are delighted to announce that 4 of our best Under 19 players have  signed their first professional contracts. The four (left to right in the pic, Brad Raiker, Blair At‎kinson, Jamie Dishington and Andy Mair)  have got a fantastic future ahead of them at Spartans with Blair, Jamie  and Andy in their first season out of u17 football.

‎ Chairman Craig Graham said “Les and the coaches who have helped him  over the years have produced an excellent squad of players, a number  of whom we expect to become 1st XI regulars if they work hard at their  game.  In addition to the four signed this week, a few of the others may  sign in the near future once they know where they will be studying.  Dougie,  Alex and Les will be working together to help develop the boys.  There is  a big leap from Under 19 to our 1st XI however we are  committed to  giving the boys every opportunity to do so, indeed all four have the potential to play SPFL football so hopefully we can provide them with that platform in due course.”

Blair Atkinson added “ I’m delighted to have signed and pleased to be making the next step. It’s been what I’ve been aiming for, for some time now and I’m hoping to get a few more starts for the Lowland League side in the future.”

Brad Raiker is also now looking forward to continuing his career with us. “It’s a dream come true signing a pro contract with Spartans. The club has done so much for me and I couldn’t imagine myself playing anywhere else. I now hope to keep progressing and make the Lowland League squad on a regular basis in the next few years.”
