East of Scotland Side Kick Off Action Packed Weekend at Ainslie ParkThis week it is back to competitive action for the East of Scotland squad as they play Peebles Rovers in the final league cup qualifying match at Ainslie Park.Having now qualified for the next phase of the league cup competition, something that looked a very tall order after losing both their opening games away to Coldstream and Berwick Reserves early on in the season, the side managed to turn the section into a very competitive one by beating Easthouses, Coldstream and Berwick at home whilst winning away from home at Peebles and drawing away from home at Easthouses. The section is now finely balanced as Coldstream, Berwick and ourselves are all sitting on 13 points with Coldstream having played a game less. The top 3 teams in each section (4) qualify with the teams winning the section going directly into the quarter final draw, the teams finishing in 2nd and 3rd position in each section then go into a play off to determine who goes into the quarter final draw. On the squad front Matty Cunningham and Chris O’Day both players are still carrying injuries, Haydn Crane continues to miss match days due to his work commitments. Mike Gray returned to training following illness and is back in contention to play while Luasz Rusin is now back from his annual winter break and available. The match kicks off at 12.30pm at Ainslie Park. |
