East of Scotland Side Travel to ColdstreamTomorrow we travel to Coldstream for a League Cup fixture. Coldstream are currently in a vein of good form following on from their promotion to the Premier League and they have already beaten Tynecastle and Berwick E.O.S. this season. I know very little about them other than they deservedly won promotion last season in a very tough league to get out of.Our own season got off to a good start last Saturday with a very creditable win against Easthouses, I thought that we played some good football and retained possession of the ball well whilst creating a number of good scoring opportunities. Most of the teams in the E.O.S. League had a midweek fixture during the week however we were not scheduled for one, this provided us with an opportunity to have a closed door game ensuring that we got some additional match fitness into the players, the management team felt it was certainly a worthwhile exercise. For tomorrow’s game we are still without the services of Kiddo whose injury is only now beginning to shows signs of recovery, both Robbo and Chris are also unavailable. On a more positive note Matty returned to training this week and he looks ready to challenge for a place again after recovering form hi injury. Team selection for tomorrow will not be easy as the players are all eager to play and show Darren, Ricky, Brian and myself what they have to offer, however no matter what the starting line-up is, it is about the wider group of players in relation to the squad which is now healthier than ever. Let’s hope the players continue to show what they are capable of on Saturday and as always getting a result makes the journey home so much better. Finally congratulations to Coldstream on their promotion to the top flight this season. Alex |
