Spartans out to break young Hearts in Youth Cup

Posted on Sunday, July 28th, 2013

The draw for opening Regional Rounds of this season’s Scottish FA Youth Cup have been drawn.

With players eligible to play if they are born after 1st January 1994, this effectively makes it an U/20s competition however it will be an U/19s side that will feature for Spartans.

Last season, the young Spartans side lost 3 – 1 to Patrick Thistle at Firhill Stadium in Round 2.  Hopefully we will see a decent SpartanArmy following at Riccarton on the 22nd September to cheer the boys on as they look to reach Round 3 – where 16 other teams join the Round 2 victors in the hat.

 The draw in full:

Heart of Midlothian v Spartans
Stirling Albion v Alloa Athletic
Queen’s Park v Forfar Athletic
Stenhousemuir v Dundee
Motherwell v East Fife
Raith Rovers v Clyde
Airdrieonians or Edinburgh City v Arbroath
Greenock Morton
St. Johnstone
