Fund raising for a defibrillator

Since we opened the Academy we have wondered about having a defibrillator onsite. The cost of what we need including training for is over £1500 so we’ve decided to raise the money we need through donations from across Spartans and from our many other teams and community groups who enjoy our fantastic facilities.

We have set up a Just Giving website to collect donations, any support would be gratefully received. The website link for donations is www.justgiving.com/spartanssportsfirstaid. We have only been collecting for a few days and already we are half way there.

Using CPR will save around 2% of casualties. This increases to 45% with a defibrillator. Hopefully we’ll never need to use it but saving one life will make this small investment worthwhile. It can happen to people of all ages and fitness levels as we saw with Fabrice Muamba.
