An important win vs Lothian

Posted on Saturday, December 3rd, 2011

The Seniors got back into action following a few weeks without a game with a solid victory over Lothian Thistle at Ainslie Park.

We opened the scoring after just five minutes when Donel Henretty headed home a ball across the goal from Robbie Manson.

We continued to create a few half chances however it took until just a few minutes before half time for us to extend the lead. Great play from Keith McLeod saw him take a shot which hit off the post. The ball landed kindly for Ally MacKinnon who stroked the ball home to make it 2-0.

We started the second half as we had finished the first. Kerr Dodds continued his recent good scoring form when he finished off a flowing 7 man move in the 47th minute.

Omar Kader then put extended the lead further. His great footwork making space for himself to run clear and finish at the second attempt.

Kenny Fisher pulled a goal back for Lothian just minutes later with an excellent finish however there were to be no more goals.

Malt and Hops Man of the Match: Ally MacKinnon – an excellent defensive performance and a goal too! A great performance from a player who is already a key member of our defence.

Team: Flockhart, O’Donnell, Hoskins (Fusco), Sivewright, MacKinnon, Malin, Kader, Manson, Dodds, McLeod (Anderson), Henretty (Grant) Unused Subs: Finnie, Seeley
