This weekend’s action

Posted on Thursday, December 1st, 2011

A fantastic weekend of football at the Academy to look forward to.
On Saturday on the stadium pitch our Juniors kick off the action with a 12.45 start against Dalkeith Thistle in a league game. Alex, Kenny and Andy have a few injury worries and Dalkeith are on a good run. Many thanks to Dalkeith for being flexible on the ko time. We are keen to get games on during inclement weather and our synthetic pitch enables us to do so.
The Seniors then play Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale at 3pm, also in league action. Mike and Sam are missing Jack and Chris S but otherwise have a full squad. Admission is £5/£3 which includes both games. Due to the late switch from Saughton there won’t be a full Seniors programme but instead there will be a brief complimentary programme with photos, the teams and Mike’s/Craig’s programme notes.
Also on Saturday on the community pitch our 17s are in Scottish Cup action. It is a critical 5th round tie against Bellfield from Perth. The 17s are our last remaining team in the Scottish Cup, ko is 1.30pm. The game should be a cracker, we have a strong 17s witha few of the players already training with the EoS 19s.
On Sunday we host our first Senior Mens cup final when Whitehill Welfare take on Edinburgh City in the Image Printers Cup Final. The ko is 2pm and a big crowd is expected. Welfare are going very well this season and City beat the previously unbeaten Stirling University to reach the final. Admission is £5/£3.
