Gateman Bert passes away

Sadly Bert our famous gateman passed away this morning. Bert had helped us for over 15 years and even well into 80’s he played his full part. His last game was against Manchester United, a great one to finish on. He was a very proud Spartan and will be badly missed by everyone around the club. In some very wet afternoons at City Park he had to take the gate through his car window and had been looking forward to the shelter of a ticket booth at Ainslie Park, perhaps when we install them they can be named in his honour.
