Management thoughts on Leith tomorrow.Mike says –“Twice this week Sam and I have reminded the players that we struggled to beat Leith 3-2 back in August. Their pace up front caused us all sorts of problems that evening and we better be prepared tomorrow. We also reminded them that it’s natural to build up a game against Whitehill or Stirling in your head the days leading up to a Saturday with the converse happening by being too relaxed when the likes of Easthouses or Leith are on the menu. I mention Easthouses deliberately as they beat us the same week we won at Muirhouse. Our past record shows we are as often beaten by newcomers to our League or teams from the First Division as we are from those at the top of the Premier. Leith deserve our respect and that’s why Sam and I have been trying to concentrate our players minds all week. It’s good to home again. If we get a performance anything like that against Tynecastle in our only other home game so far this season Sam and I will be very happy. We played well at Meadowbank last Saturday and the team tomorrow will be on very similar lines. With other teams near the top of the league on cup duty we have a great chance of putting some more daylight between ourselves and the field. We must remember however our opponents will have taken a lift from their first 3 league points last weekend and will enjoy playing on our new surface. Tomorrow can’t come quickly enough.” Mike |
