Three Saturday winsIn league matches tHe Seniors beat Tynecastle 9 – 0 while the Juniors beat Edinburgh United to go top with goals from Gary Hamilton and Adam Perry while the Amateurs won their East Cup tie 4 – 1 against Tranent.Keith McLeod in for Chris Anderson was the only change from last week’s starting line up with Scott Fusco and Jonny Seeley back on the bench. It took only 10 minutes for us to take the lead with Keith volleying home from 10 yards a Donal Henretty cut back. Tynecastle were keeping the ball well without causing a threat however it was us who scored a second on the half hour mark, Danny O’Donnel’s cross driven in by Donal at the far post. Just before the break was the only problem of the day when Gavin’s troublesome shoulder took a knock and he had to go off. Chris Anderson came on for Gavin at the start of the second half and it only took five minutes for the third to come when Donal drove the ball home from just outside the box. Kerr Dodds then scored his first for Spartans when he knocked the ball home from close range. Omar Kader then got in on the act after a mazy dribble gave him time and space to fire home. Donal then completed his hat trick, his first ever for the club after around 300 games. He was allowed to run and placed a right foot shot just inside the post. Dean Hoskins drove home a free kick, Keith hooked one home in the 85th minute and then Chris Smith scored the ninth in the final minute with a well placed effort. The new surface seemed to suit our passing game agains a young Tynecastle outfit. The Malt and Hops champagne man of the match went to Donal for his hat trick. Team: Flockhart, O’Donnell, Hoskins, Sivewright, McKinnon, Kader, Dodds (Finnie 68), Malin (Anderson 45), Henretty (C Smith 68), McLeod, Manson Subs not used: Seeley, Fusco After the game the Tynecastle management duo of Murray Balloch and David Bingham elf the club, we wish them well. |
