Management thoughts on a hard earned win

Mike says –

“Another game we should have put to bed but ended up sweating over. Having said that Sam and I were pleased with the effort shown and the points gained. Leith were sharp up front and caused us a lot of problems but their keeper was the best of their bunch with a string of saves especially from Omar Kader who on another day could have had a hat-trick.

We are obviously concerned at the goals against so far this season but some times you seem to lose goals with regular ease or without the opposition having to work too hard to get them. Sam and I are happy with the players at our disposal at the back and we are sure things will improve as they settle in and we work at one or two things at training.

Our fitness is getting better as the games come thick and fast and Saturday now becomes very important. Any two from four can progress from our section and only a win will do at St Marks Park this weekend. I not sure if two bookings means Rees Smith missing our next game but we’ll check up before Saturday. Dr Seeley is unavaiable but hopefully Dean Hoskins will be fit enough to play.

More on the Craigie game laterf in the week.”
