An 85th minute free kick from Kirsty Hamilton gave our Womens team a 2 – 1 win over Rangers in the semi final of the League Cup at Broxburn tonight. Kirsty Mclaughlin had scored the opener in the first half. The final against Hibs is at Alloa on Wednesday 25th May.
The Senior team had an exciting 3 – 3 draw with Edinburgh University in a league game. The Uni scored in less than a minute when Danny main got a free header in the box but two minutes later Donal Henrettyu equalaised when a kick out from mark Tait the Uni keeper bouned off Donal’s back into the net. Midway through the half we failed to clear our lines and Main scored his second from close range. Just on half time Donal nodded home his second when Jonny Seeley flicked on a Jack Beesley cross. Early in the second half a Mike Gray powerful drive put the Uni ahead again but U19 player Sean Wringe equalised two minutes later with a fine drive after a good run and cutback from Ross Archibald. The scoring was over but the Uni missed three very good chances to score a winner although keith Mcleod might have done likewise in the 92nd minute when he screwed his shot wide. Donal won the M&H man of the match Team: McGarrie, Burns, Seeley, Townsley, Fowlie, Malin (Wringe 72), Beesley (Mcleod 72), Donnelly (O’Donnell 72), Henretty, Smith, Archibald Subs not used: Flockhart, Hoskins
