Berwick win City Cup

We lost 2 – 1 tonight in an exciting game at Berwick.  We played very well in the first half with Ross Archibald driving home a Jack Beesley cross after 9 minutes to give us the lead.  Donal Henretty, Jack and Ross all came close with Chris Flockhart having little to do in the first 45 minutes.  Berwick strengthened with three of their normal starting XI at half time and looked much stronger.  Gavin Malin did have a great chance midway through the second half after a superb move but his powerful effort was close to the ‘keeper.  Gray scored from close range with 15 minutes left to equalise while Dean Hoskins was off the pitch receiving treatment and it was to get worse when Currie scored a great free kick five minutes later.  We pushed Danny O’Donnell up front for the remaining minutes but even with Danny’s presence we couldn’t force an equaliser.  Chris Townsley winning the malt and Hops man of the match.  Team: Flockhart, O’Donnell, Fowlie (Sinclair 84), Sivewright, Townsley, Archibald, Manson, Malin, Beesley, Henretty (Finnie 84), Hoskins (Smith 77) Subs not used: Etale, McGarrie
