Management thoughts on an important victory last night.

Mike says –

“With Keith McLeod and Omar Kader in London, Ross Archibald and Alex King both having been ill early this week and a very good Stirling University side who could top the league if the beat us to face, I was more an a little apprehensive before last nights game. I needn’t have been as Archie and Alex gritted their teeth and got on with it and along with the rest the players available put on a professional performance.

Also to fit the players Sam, Mike and myself wanted to start we had to move away from the 4 4 2 system which has served us so well this season. The worry with one striker is the amount of support he does or doesn’t get and our system last night called on Gavin, Jack and Archie to stay as far up the park as possible when we got hold of the ball and thankfully it worked. In the first 25 minutes we played some of the best football we have played all season.

Although Edinburgh Uni can overhaul us with their games in hand we presently sit pretty at the top of the league. The next two Saturdays at least will be devoted to cup action starting with Gala at the Academy this Saturday.

Will we start the same system? Could Sam’s heart handle it? On thing is for sure Omar and Keith will come back into the side and we may make at least one more change. Donal is unavailable and David has a thigh strain but more of that tomorrow.”
