Seniors through while Juniors and Amateurs crash out

The Seniors are through to face Selkirk in the semi finals of the Image Printers cup following a hard fought 3-1 victory after extra time at Peffermill this afternoon.

The Uni started strongest and went ahead when Benji Antoni, brother of Oli from our Junior side produced a wonderful piece of skill to flick the ball with his heel beyond Chris Flockhart. We struggled to get into the game and the Uni defence did an excellent job of breaking up our attacks.

We came out stronger in the second half and Keith McLeod pulled us back level with a cool finish from about 12 yards out.  The match finished at 1-1 and went to extra time. Robbie Manson put us ahead when he slid in to fire home and Alex King tapped in a third when Keith McLeod failed to connect with the ball properly from a yard out.

The result sees us through to the semi final which will be played at Ainslie Park in early November.
