Management thoughts on a difficult afternoon at Yarrow Park.

“I’m posting early this weekend as I’m off to Mallorca tomorrow morning for a few days on business.

We started brightly today but didn’t capitalise on our early possession near the Selkirk goal. On a difficult surface due to the recent rain we overdid things time and again rather than hit the early trigger. We looked like we were going to pay for our indecision and over elaboration in front of goal when Selkirk were awarded a penalty midway through the first half. Big Flocks did what he’s done on a number of occasions this season and Sam and I hoped it would give us a wake-up call.

On the contrary it gave Selkirk the confidence to push forward and Jason Cockburn gave the home side the lead with a back post header in the  33rd minute.

Sam and I told the guys to keep the faith at half-time and although it looked like it wasn’t going to be our day the players pushed to the final whistle and the “London Boys” (Omar is down there for 9 months and Keith working down there for 3 weeks and we appreciate their efforts to make the game)  pulled the game out the hat. We were a bit fortunate the way the game turned out but Sam and I were delighted with the 3 points and the efforts all 14 players put in.”
