Saturday action

Posted on Friday, September 10th, 2010

The Seniors cup action kicks off at 2.30 at Innerleithen where the home side have a few players returning who missed the league game at the Academy a couple of weeks ago so it’s looking like a very challenging fixture.

The Juniors travel to Angus tomorrow to face North District side, Arbroath Vic, in the East of Scotland cup 1st round. Arbroath have had a similar start to the season, completing well in their league cup group stage and sitting at the top end of their league after two games.

David Cowan has a near full squad available with only Phil McKibben and Ross Middlemass unavailable. We will be hoping to follow on from our good second half performance against West Calder United last week and having gone out at the first round stage last year, hope to find ourselves in the draw for the second round. Anyone looking to attend should contact Cameron Hobbs for travel details.

The Amateurs play on the stadium pitch at the Academy against Bridgend in a league game with a 2pm ko. We are nearly at full strength with only top scorer Steve Malin missing on holidays. Neil Webb, David Cran and Iain Cartwright are all added to last weeks squad. The squad has a continental flavour with Frenchman Jean-Baptiste Convert who very well in his debut last week and Bulgarian Velichko Yankov who signed last night, Velichko was with Edinburgh City last season.
