Top of Table Clash at City Park
Posted on Saturday, August 28th, 2010

It’s 1st versus 2nd tomorrow at City Park when Spartans welcome league leaders Newton Heath.
Heath had a hugely successful season last term, winning the 1st Division at a canter having remained undefeated all season.
That coupled with a run to the last 16 of the Scottish Cup and a League Cup under their belt ensures that Spartans will have to be at their very best in order to take something from the game.
Kenny Cameron points out that Spartans can go top outright should they win; “I know Newton Heath very well and have always rated them as a very good side. We have had close games with them in the past and they’re definitely amongst the favorites for the title this year. They play good football and we will have to be at our best if we are to get a result.
It’s early days but the incentive of going top is there and we’ll give it a shot.”
Spartans are without Mikey Watson, Gavin Cattenach, Sean Mullen, Roni Pennatt and captain Jamie Murray for the match.
