Spartans nap hand over the weekend! The EoS 19s and the Sunday Amateurs both recorded narrow wins this afternoon over Edinburgh city and Pentland respectively. The 19s rode their luck in an exciting game at the Academy. City opened the scoring in the first half but Alan Murray equalised. City then deservedly went ahead again just before the break. Spartans played their best football in the first 20 minutes of the second half with Steven McGinn and Alan Murray again putting us ahead. City then came storming back hitting the bar twice before equalising with five minutes left. We were under real pressure but a breakaway in the 90th minute saw substitute Jordan Finnie slot the ball home. City were not out of it and it took a flying save from Stuart Dodds in the dying seconds to win the game. The Amatuers scorers were Jonny Semanto, Daniel Chilli and an OG in a 3 – 2 win. |
