Three wins and tomorrow’s actionThe Seniors won 7 – 0 in resounding fashion down in Dumfries against Crichton. There was a scare after only 8 minutes when ‘keeper Craig McGarrie went down under a challenge and Danny O’Donnell had to takeover the green jersey. We opened the scoring in 20 minutes through Keith Mcleod and two Gavin Malin goals made the half time score 3 – 0. Gavin completed his hat trick. Kevin Sivewright then scored his first of his Spartans career before two Jorge Vinneli goals completed the scoring.Team: McGarrie (O’Donnell), Archibald, Sivewright, Gerrard, Fowlie, McAuley, Manson, King (Hoskins), Malin, Kader, McLeod (Vinneli) Sub not used: Henretty The Juniors beat Haddington 3 – 0 at Ainslie Park. We had most of the first half but could not find the way past their inspired ‘keeper. Adam Perry did notch just into the second half from a suspiciously offside position but an own goal from ex Spartans player David Mcleod and another from Adam sealed Haddington’s fate. The team had passed the ball well on the excellent surface. Team: Paterek, Cruickshank, McKibben, Steele, Scott, Young (Baxter 68), Moffat (Robertson 65), Antoni (Boyes 73), Reid, Perry. Subs not used: Sutherland, Hutchison, Cartwright The Amateurs beat Edinburgh Uni 2 – 1 on penalties after the 120 minutes finished goalless. Both teams had played with 10 men towards the end after a scuffle saw Steve Malin sent off along with a Uni player. Ronnie Napier did miss a penalty for us in regulation time. Our scorers in the shoot out were David Cran and Bengharbia. Tomorrow the Womens team aim to get their season started at the second attempt with a League Cup game at Dundee Utd, the game being played at Downfield Juniors ko 2pm. The EoS 19s have a league game against Tynecastle at City Park, ko 2pm and the Sunday Amateurs play St Vincents at Roseburn, ko also 2pm. |
