Spartans vs Edinburgh University – Wednesday 3rd March

We are really looking forward to welcoming Ian, Alan, Dougie, Neil, Craig and their students to Ainslie Park on Wednesday night for our first game against them in our new home.  We’re looking forward to welcoming as many of the Old Boys or Legends who have previously played in the fixture to the game.  Alan has managed to find the first team picture we have of a Spartans team….it shows the two teams together before an East of Scotland League game in 1951.  Apparently Spartans couldn’t afford a set of strips but the players were invited to bring along either a red or a red and white hooped shirt.
