Management thoughts on the Nitten game yesterday.

Mike says -

“First of all a happy New Year to everyone involved with and those who follow any of the Spartans numerous teams.

Yesterday I flew back in from Mallorca to catch the closing stages of a game which both teams were desperate to play but was becoming increasingly dangerous as the temperature dropped.

You never want to lose any game of football but yesterday was far more about getting the guys together after the extended break due to the weather. Louis, Sam, Mike and myself were happy to get some players back in a strip and a chance to look at one or two youngsters.  For our part Archie, Dan, Danny, Kingy, Gavin, Luke, Chris and Donal were unavailable but we got another chance to check on Hammy and Sinky from the Under 19′s as well as another look at young Daniel. The biggest plus for us was Stewart back kicking the ball after the injury he got against the Vale.

Oh! and a big thanks to Burnsie for helping us out at short notice.

By all accounts an under strength Nitten team deserved their win against an under strength Spartans side and both sides look forward to a thaw. A thaw I’m afraid I don’t see coming.”
