Today’s fixtures

Posted on Saturday, October 10th, 2009

The overnight rain has put the Academy pitch in perfect condition for the league game against Coldstream this afternoon.  The ko is 2.30pm.  It will be great to see Struan Preston back in a Spartans strip for the first time this season after his long injury.  The Scotland vs Japan game is live oin the cafe/bar at 11.15, fans are very welcome to come down early to take in the International action.

The Juniors are also ready for the Scottish Cup action through in Larkhall.  Manager Mark Lamb is looking forward to the game, “we’ve heard the Larkhall fans make it intimidating for the opposing team.  From our days in amateur football through in the West we’re used to all kinds of banter so we’re ready for a great day.”  Joe Steele may return to starting action and Adam Perry is still out through suspension.  Nick Reid came off early last week with a hamstring problem but has been on the treatment table all week and may be fit.

Our Amateurs play Meadow Star in the league game on the FieldTurf at the Academy also with a 2.30 ko and they are looking to get back to winning ways after  acouple of close defeats.

Also a quick look ahead to tomorrow when our Womens team play Rangers at the Academy, ko 2pm.
