2s go downTh2 2nd XI lost 2 – 0 to St Pats in the Division 1 play-off tonight at Colville Park in the pouring rain.The evening got off to a bad start when the Chairman had a blow out while driving down the M8 with the strips in the boot of the car. They did however arrive in plenty of time but St Pats looked the livlier in the opening exchanges. Spartans did come into the game as the half progressed but St Pats did take the lead after 30 minutes at the end of a swift break. The second then came ten minutes into the second half after a melle following a corner. We had few chances. In the first half Adam Perry came closest with a header which went into the ‘keepers arms from a Nick Reid cross. With ten minutes to go a Paul Sutherland close range header was blocked on the line. St Pats experienced defence held a stromg line as we pushed players up in the second half and they deserved the Division 1 trophy.
