Robbie - suspended

Co-manager Mike Lawson’s thoughts on the game against Heriot-Watt – “With Dalbeattie on cup duty we can hit the top of the league table for the first time this season tomorrow. Our first three league games were cancelled due to the rain and that combined with our run in the Scottish Cup into January means we have been playing catch up since last August. The players are well rested after a midweek free of games and are raring to go. The pressure is now on them and it’s up to Sam and I to keep them relaxed yet focused on what will be a hard game against the students.

Heriot-Watt will be on a high after last week’s semi-final win and they will take confidence from the last 45 minutes of football against Spartans a few weeks back.

Robbie Manson is suspended and Stewart is still a bit away from starting but other than those two we have a full pool of players to choose from. We are all looking forward to our third last game at City Park.” The action at City Park kicks off at 2.30pm.

The 2nd XI travel to Sporting for a league game. Coach Mark Lamb is again missing Nick Reid who has headed off on another holiday but it gives Adam Perry another chance to close the gap at the top of the league. This is our third last league game with also an M & M Trophy Quarter Final to look forward to.

Last night the 3rd XI went out of the Logan Cup at the quarter final stage losing 6 – 5 on penalties to Redhall Star after the 120 minutes finished goalless. Garth Fitzsimons has a spot kick to put us through but didn’t convert. We have two league games left next week to complete the season.
