News

1. After a break since the Elgin game it’s Scottish Cup week again. Some good press today and there should be over the weekend again as we will hold a photocall at the Academy on Thursday. We have said to Airdrie we will take 500 supporters to the game – lets make sure everyone makes every possible effort. Final numbers on the supporters bus to Cameron by tomorrow please, the buses will leave from the Academy where the bar will be open before we leave.

2. We have the small matter of a trip to see the SFA at Hampden on Wednesday on our ineligible player in the last round…likely to be in the press on Thursday for the wrong reasons!

3. It has been a busy fortnight at the Academy…the news items on the website will take you through it, www.spartansfc.com. It has been great to see many of the old Spartans along to see the Academy. A notable visitor on the day the Edinburgh City game was postponed was captain from the 80′s Mike Drabble…Mike played in the league winning team back in ’83. Having not seen the team played for over ten years he was really disappointed to have missed the game but delighted at our new home. At the Academy Debbi McCulloch our second Development Officer joins us tomorrow to bring us up to the full complement of staff as our Youth and Community programmes really kick in in early 09..

4. Training at the Academy at 7.30 for the 1s and 2s both Tuesday and Thursday…the 3s and 19s a Peffermill on Tuesday and Peffermill on Thursday.
