1st XI League Spartans 2 (Donal Henretty, Keith McLeod) Dalbeattie Star 5…after 70 minutes we were 2 – 1 ahead and looking comfortable…they win a very soft penalty and really raise their game.  They are now in a great position in the league
2nd XI League Eastfield 2 Spartans 3 (Gary Bannon, Lukas Zuk, Danny Forbes)…Lukas popping up with the winner with 5 to go.  Not a great performance but picking up the points to go to the top of the league
3rd XI League Spartans 0 Edinburgh Uni 2s 1…a close encounter but the Uni just deserved the points

3. John McCabe £91]

2. The new range of merchandise is now in Football Nation and on our website.  Loads of new things…our new scarf being the final item to come and it should be here by the end of the week.

3. The Academy – as I mentioned in the programme yesterday when we open on the 5th we will be keeping it to just the Spartans family for 2 weeks to ensure we iron out any difficulties.  The Council snagging and then ours will be continuing for a couple of weeks so there may be a few challenges.  Anyway we are now looking for volunteers to work either in the cafe/bar or doing other helper duties over the first couple of weeks and through to just after Xmas.  “Shifts” will be in 90 minute slots and we just want to make sure all goes well over the early weeks.  Please email Douglas on douglassamuel@spartanscfa.com if you would like to help.  I’m really hoping quite a few of you come forward – to make it a real success we will really need loads of people to put their hands up and offer a little time.
Also if you want to book (and pay a small amount for) a game of 5 or 7 a side during the first couple of weeks please email Douglas…we will need a few of you to test everything out.

4. Final bookings for the supporters bus to Elgin please let Cameron know.

Obviously a big week for the club in the Scottish Cup – if you are undecided about making the trip then please go ahead…a big Spartans turnout makes such a difference to the players.

Cheers
