2nd XI Scottish Amateur Cup R2 Spartans 7 (Nick Reid 4, Adam Perry 2, Keith Boyes) Lochgelly U 0….4 – 0 ahead at half time playing with the gale force wind and playing even better in the second half
3rd XI East of Scotland Cup R1 Spartans 1 (Steve Malin) Loanhead MW 2…ahead at the interval but like the 2s the wind polied the game and we lost sloppy goals

Sun 26th October

Scotland Womens team skippered by Spartans player/coach Shelley Kerr went down 3 – 2 to Russia at Tynecastle in the first leg of their Euro Championship play off. News

1. Thanks to all the fans who made the abortive trip to Annan yesterday…as thanks we will only charge £4 and £3 for next Saturdays’s supporters bus…as before please contact cameron on cameron_hobbs@blueyonder.co.uk or by phone on 07962 353645. It was a great Scottish Cup day for ex Spartans Tommo, Kev M and Rossi with them all scoring, an omen for next week…which will hopefully see some of the current Spartans players also scoring in the Cup.

2. The draw for the third round of the Scottish Cup is tomorrow at Hampden, we will update the website when we know what the outcome is.

3. Douglas Samuel in his Academy role picked up our £12,500 award from Norwich Union last night at the big awards dinner in London…the £50,000 first prize going to the Special Olympic City of York bid…many thanks again to everyone who voted for us. The Academy also received a £10,000 cheque from the HBOS Foundation (thanks to Danny O’D, Mark B and Nick who work at HBOS and submitted the application) so it’s been a good week on the funding front as we work hard to reduce the loans we require. The entry date should be confirmed later this week at a Project team meeting….progress is reasonable although the grass pitch is not growing as fast as the pitch guys would want it to.

4. Training – Weather permitting grass at Peffermill on Tuesday for all and astro on Thursday for the 1s, with the 2s in Penicuik and the 19s in Pilton on small astros.
